Hey guzzzz....
So coming to the point, I'm providing steps to rename start button , but before this I wanna tell U one think that make sure to backup of "EXPLORER.EXE" and if any thing goes wrong u can ask in comments and also I'm not responsible for any cause:
so lets do it....
All the steps u have to type w/o double quotes( " )...
1. Go to "Run" and there type "cmd" to enter in command mode.
2. type "cd\" and press enter.
3. now type the following one by one:
cd win*
copy explorer.exe abc.exe ( Name abc.exe as u wish but with .exe)
attrib -r abc.exe (to remove its read only attribute)
edit/70 abc.exe
After hitting enter you'll enter into a blue screen. don't afraid :-p ...
4. Now search for "start"...... .... .... Founding problem in searching start in 15000 lines. OK I'll make it easy, Just head ur mouse to line: 14398.
5. It shows value of 5 means u can't change Ur start name more than file words, My nick name is lucky so I'll use it . :-D
Rename it carefully like if u have to type 'p' instead of 's' in s t a r t u first put cursor to 's' press del once and type 'p' ..and same for others...
Now u have typed given new 5 values..
Save this under File menu..
U'll back to cmd
6. There u type exit to exit command prompt.
7. Now Head to registry editor to do so type "regedit" in run.
8. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE--SOFTWARE--MICROSOFT--WINNT--Current Version--WinLogon
9. In right side right click the "shell" and modify it to ur new explorer.exe file name as I've abc.exe exact.
10. Now close registry editor and press ctrl + alt + del or Simply restart Windows to see the magic.....
If u will press CTRL+ALT+DEL then u have to end "explorer.exe" process and start new task to as "abc.exe"
REMEMBER I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY CAUSE IF ANY MISTAKE OCCUR U'LL ASK IN COMMENT.

Simply the procedure is based on editing or explorer file and by registry editor we are telling or OS to load new explorer file...
The process is permanent and the changed 'Start' in XP will never changed to its original name.
